At work, I run the Sound Game. I play a sound, you guess it, you get a point. Anyway, Maja was the 2017 champ and the prize was an illustration.
I need to reboot this drawing project. 2017 was not the year of new illustrations. Upside, the distance gave me time to rethink what I wanted to do and get better at some things, like shading.
Had a moment to change out the Tiny Gallery with a retrospective of my illustrations to date.
Steven dropped by the studio a couple of weeks ago and I took a few photos. Ugh, I’ve been so swamped with work that I hadn’t been able to sort through them till now.
Dia De Los Muertos. Who needs Halloween, when you have the alternative?
Updated the Tiny Gallery with Alexander’s portrait. It’s hot, I keep the door open while I’m working and I hear people talking about it.
Been staring at this Alexander painting for a week. Thought I would swap it for the one of Joe. Makes sense to have two going at once.
It’s been awhile since I’ve completed an illustration. Thought I’d draw someone without a beard.
Updated the Tiny Gallery with Joe’s portrait. I think I’m getting close to finishing this one.
Found a moment today to put on a first layer of Alexander’s portrait. Thought I had a plan about this one, but now I’m not sure.
I came across this photo of Alexander and it looked like a painting to me. I found a canvas and got started.
I finally finished all my freelance work, so I spent the afternoon painting in a layer of motorcycle parts. Oh I miss the smell of turpentine.
