I think we’re getting somewhere.
Upon finishing the Robert and Steven paintings, I laid them out in the sun to dry. The heat caused subtle cracks in the oil, giving it the appearance of an old sign that you would find leaning on the side of an old gas station.
I took them both apart and shifted the pieces around until I got to an image that made sense to me. After that, it was just a thousand screws that held everything together.
