There is a rash of car break-ins in the neighborhood. Here’s the Silver Lake Car Elf caught on video. He’s 5’ 3” to 5’ 5”, white or hispanic with a mustache.
July 3 | Vehicle Break-In
The Elf breaks the back window of my neighbor’s car only to make off with a lumbar pillow that he discards down the street. $380 for window repair.

July 13 | Four Vehicles Vandelized
This chronicles four break ins within a one mile area. Sometimes he doesn’t find anything worth taking, so he walks off to the next car, leaving a trail of broken glass.

Balmer Dr. | Rear window was bashed in. Stole backpack with work laptop and tablet. Digital camera sitting on front passenger seat left untouched.

Vehicle #1 | 2:43AM Hawick St. | Broken rear window. Nothing stolen.
Vehicle #2 | 2:57AM Kenilworth Ave. | Broken Glass from unidentified vehicle.
Vehicle #3 | Balmer Dr | 2nd Vehicle Broken rear window at same address. Nothing stolen.
Vehicle #4 | Panorama Terrace | Smashed window. Stole 8 year old’s purple backpack with three library books in it.
July 16
Panorama Terrace | Rear passenger window smashed. Stole a small black messenger bag with nothing in it.
